Chad Decker - Builder of the Year- 2025

SAN ANGELO, TX — The Texas Association of Builders has named Chad Decker of Decker Custom Homes in San Angelo the 2025 J.B. Sandlin Builder of the Year. The award was announced during TAB’s annual Excellence in Leadership Dinner held Tuesday at the Hyatt Regency in Austin, according to a release from the association.
TAB stated that Decker, who founded Decker Custom Homes in 2002, was recognized for his leadership in the homebuilding industry and his commitment to quality, energy-efficient design. Before launching his company, Decker earned a marketing degree from Angelo State University and worked with Standard Pacific Homes and Taylor Woodrow Homes.
According to the association, Decker has served in several leadership roles within both the Home Builders Association of San Angelo and the Texas Association of Builders. His experience includes chairing TAB’s Bylaws and Contracts Committees, serving on the Executive Committee, and acting as a HOME-PAC trustee for more than 10 years.
TAB also credited Decker for his role in helping establish and expand the Howard College San Angelo Construction Trades Center through the Texas Builders Foundation, where he serves as chair of the foundation’s Fundraising Committee.
TAB’s annual “Of the Year” awards recognize excellence and leadership within Texas homebuilding. Decker was among several honorees recognized for their contributions to the industry.
